Find Lost Money Australia

Site updates

What we have changed
and when

Government rules and websites change, so we keep checking and fixing this site. This page lists the real changes we have made, newest first.

  1. Added write-in "Other" rows to every section of the downloadable budget spreadsheet, so it matches the online Budget Planner.

  2. Removed Money-Saving Tips from the main menu so the site's navigation stays focused on finding lost money. The page is still available from the footer.

  3. Merged four articles that repeated an existing guide or tool into that page, so each question has one complete answer. The old article addresses now forward to the merged page.

  4. Rewrote every article in plainer English. Facts, figures and official sources were kept the same, and each article now shows its October review date.

  5. Reordered the home page so the official searches and state registers come first, and gave the free calculators their own section.

  6. Added free tools: a Budget Planner with a downloadable spreadsheet, a super fees calculator for multiple accounts, a super guarantee checker and a savings goal calculator.

  7. Corrected the article on how long unclaimed money is held, including how ASIC interest works and how holding periods differ between states.
